Question / Help using external sound card with obs

now I read a bunch of posts about using sound flower and wav tap then music capture. im using iMac and cant get obs to connect to my sound card. I tried putting sound flower and music capture into aggregate devices, then choosing it in settings of obs but I dont c any audio coming in. I c the audio in system preferences of the Mac but not on obs. so frustrating. pulling all my hair out. please help

i read that i have to use a 3rd party program like soundflower pr catch sound etc. i dl both. i set up aggregat devices in midi setup and then open system preferences and checked sound of computer and i c its going tho aggregate device. all fine. in obs there r 2 parts - the settings on the bottom right and then sources. in both i can choose the aggregate device or soundflower etc. i ttried every variation and could not c any sond on the meters. so frustrating . surely u can connect an external soundcard cos otherwise how can i capture ssound apart fro musing the computer microphone which is basically crap.
