Using DSLR Camera as Webcam

I'm trying to use my Nikon D7100 DSLR camera as my webcam in OBS, but when selecting it as a video capture device, it just shows, "Nikon Webcam Utility Ver.1.0.1" on the screen when selected and does not show any video from the camera itself. I have downloaded the Nikon Windows Nikon Webcam Utility that is needed to use the camera as a webcam on PC through USB but nothing helps and I'm stuck here with the same screen. I've even looked into using Elgato Cam Link, but it says my specific camera is not supported. What am I doing wrong? Is this camera not compatible with OBS at all? If so, how can I use this camera to use in my live streams?

The issue most likely isn't OBS, but you Nikon s/w setup
My recommendation - Make sure you can see your camera image in something else (Zoom, etc). Then, once you know you have the Nikon s/w working correctly, then try to use it as a source in OBS

It doesn't look like your camera is supported on the Nikon Webcam utility website.

I'm having the same problem, only my camera the Z50 is supported, and I only see this when I use it as a source. The webcam utility is installed, camera battery is fully charged, camera set to video, plenty of space on memory card, lens extended. I created a support ticket with Nikon today and hopefully will get some help too.

I also tried to use the camera as a video source in Zoom and got the same thing. Just an image of the webcam utility logo in place of live video from my camera.

use the HDMi out but when you didnt have clean HDMI forget it the nicon programm makes only a 1024 resulution
