Using Audio Interface as Audio Input Source?

Hey there :)

Trying to start streaming in higher quality soon. Don't have a USB mic yet, but as a musician, I have mics with normal XLR plugs that go into an Audio Interface that is then sent to a computer via USB. I have a Tascam 2x2. I was trying to set up my Audio Input Source as the Tascam 2x2 last night, but OBS never recognized that as an option.

Anybody ever mess around with this? Any tips for it to recognize the audio interface?

Are you planning to manipulate the audio on the PC? if not, using a cable from the Tascam to audio input (microphone/whatever) will likely have lower latency (may be non-issue, just food for thought before complicating matters).. I'm of the KISS fan club [keep it simple, ] If you have good use for the USB driver and software, go for it. Otherwise, just be aware that if may not be simplest / most reliable connection??

The Tascam product page web page has links to their own v4 s/w and USB driver, and mentions ASIO and another option as well
