Question / Help Using a physical Media Encoder Rather than Software Based?

Picture quality per bitrate on the hardware solutions tends to be worse than with x264 (which is what OBS uses)
If you're going to try to optimize picture quality, building a dedicated capture machine whose only job is to take the feed from your capture card (GOOD one), sound devices and webcam and encode there. Separate the game and the video encoding into separate machines.

Gotcha, my next question is, what is the best capture card on the market now adays? I currently have an Avermedia Live Gamer HD its just an awful card for streaming... I have the worst inconsistent FPS issues ever, its just all over. After doing some research on it quite some time ago I was told that theres not a lot I can do and that its the card..
