Question / Help Use macOS or Windows on MacBook Pro

So I'll be livestreaming sporting content with an input from a camera and audio interface. I'll be doing this outdoors in quite hot conditions.

I'm not sure if it would be better to use OBS while on macOS or on Windows as I don't know which one will allow the laptop to run cooler/more efficiently.

I am running on a 2013 Macbook Pro Retina (16GB RAM, i5 dual core, 4 threads). I will be using a capture card, H5 Zoom audio interface, and additional graphics (which will refresh every 2 seconds).

Any thoughts or potential cooling ideas?

Resolution, framerate, bitrate?

I'm torn between acknowledging that it seems to be the case that on the same hardware, OBS runs significantly better on Windows than MacOS, achieving more stable framerates at higher resolutions while using less CPU, and noting that I would expect the power management of MacOS to function better on native hardware than Windows would.

Do you have MacsFanControl installed?
