Question / Help "Use Device Timestamps" explanation

Can somebody explain what "Use Device Timestamps" does in OBS-MP per audio device?

My desktop audio is currently set to use them, while my mic is not. Is this correctly setup?

My best guess is its something synchronization related but I just want to make sure my devices are setup properly.

yes it is one option you can use if you are experiencing video and audio that isnt synchronized. Another thing you can use is the "video delay (aysnc)" filter in OBS Studio, or in the, I believe, advanced settings area of OBS Classic. Timestamps didnt help me buit the async filter did. Maybe you guys can help me. Lately, I have had this weird issue where my microphone is in sync, but the sound output from other sources aren't. It just lags, really badly. Linked video below is full of examples.

If you look at time code 01:33:50 ... look at her calling the cops... her voice is supposed to be heard only when she is holding the phone to her head, but it clearly isn't. However, the sound input of my microphone is synched... o.O ... I don't know how this could be.

Another example is in the same video... at 01:36:20, the Sim City tune is supposed to play immediately at the same time as the follower announcment shows up, but it lags as well, so it feels like its definitely an OBS problem as both game AND OBS sound is lagging, but the microphone isn't.

It is soo weird, why is one source in sync and the other not?? It frustrates me to no end because no one seems to be able to answer it. Btw it started to happen after the latest update.

Got any clues as to what might be the problem here?

hi, have you solved this issue ? i've been streaming for a year and have same issue with you since couple days ago. Not sure what caused it..
