Hello,
I'm using OBS to record events, with audio input coming from a Mackie ProFX6V3 mixing board connected to my laptop via USB-C. I monitored the audio on the mixer throughout the recording, and everything sounded fine. However, when I played back the recording, I noticed several audio dropouts lasting 10 to 20 seconds.
The audio seemed to cut out in the recording whenever I adjusted the mic levels on the mixer. Now that I think about it, I remember seeing the USB input level in OBS drop to zero every time I made even the slightest adjustment to the mic levels. There were no audio issues on my PA system or in my monitor headphones connected to the mixer.
I checked Mackie’s FAQ but didn’t find anything helpful—USB audio shouldn’t cut out, even if an input is clipping.
My OBS configuration is mostly default; I simply added the mixer as the main audio input.
Could a default setting in OBS be causing this behavior?
Thank you
