I have been using OBS for my church for a few years now and its always worked great.
But unfortunately the Windows 10 computer died and was replaced with one running Windows 11.
I was able to rescue the OBS settings from the old computer and imported them into the new one.
Everything looked great, just had to update some paths and all was back to normal.
However, now the audio clips out whenever the band plays.
Any spoken words are perfect, but once the piano, drums and singing start it seems like its clipping.
No settings were changed on the mixing board or the audio input.
Oddly, one thing that helped was to run the Windows Sound Recorder while streaming (to facebook) and then it all was level and perfect.
(although that has stopped working since a recent Windows update)
And even though it seems like the audio is clipping, the sound meter never really gets passed yellow.
I have tried with no filters and a selection of them.
Currently using these filters, in the following order:
The setup is as follows.
A few mics throughout the church connected to a mixing board (an old Behringer QX2222).
A mixer by the band that also connects to the Behringer.
The Behringer connects to the mic port of an Atem Mini video switcher.
(I forget if I have this port set to Line or Mic, but ive tried both ways)
3 cameras connected via HDMI to the Atem.
And the Atem connects to the computer via USB.
I have tried lowering the master gain on the mixer, but that hasnt helped.
Ive changed various audio settings in OBS, but that doesnt help.
(44, 48, stereo, mono, etc...)
And also tried a bunch of suggestions found online (too many to actually list out)
And if memory serves, i think the recording captured by OBS is fine, but I cant verify that now since it seems like they dont have a recent recording saved.
I feel like its something simple Im overlooking and am wondering if anyone else experienced this after switching to Win 11.
