Question / Help Updated my NVIDIA drivers but still getting error message?

I'm trying to test out my OBS before I start to actually product some projects, and whenever I hit "Start Recording" I get the following pop up dialog:

"Failed to start recording
Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.

Note: If you are using NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date."

I updated my NVIDIA card, Java, tried to add an exception to my NVIDIA card programming, and uninstalled, reinstalled, and restarted OBS a couple times to no avail.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'll post my error log if needed.

Stesso problema e fatto le stesse cose di AngryCrocheter, scusa Osiris ma la mia ignoranza in materia non mi aiuta a capire cosa fare dalla tua risposta, grazie

Same problem and done the same things as AngryCrocheter, sorry Osiris but my ignorance on the subject does not help me to understand what to do with your answer, thanks

The answer is that the OP has set OBS to use the NVENC hardware encoder, but the Nvidia card they own, the GeForce 930M, does not contain the required hardware. The encoder should be set to x264.

I have experienced the same problem earlier. Try this, hope it works:Right click and use Update Driver Software on the Display or Standard VGA Graphics Adapter from your device list.Point to the path of the extracted NVIDIA driver folder like as C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\xxx.xx\windows_version\English\Display.Driver. If this folder does not exist, you have never run the installer before.
Restart PC as soon as it’s done.Proceed to run the NVIDIA installer once again as usual if the video card has been successfully recognized.
If the same problem keeps reoccurring, you may need to try other methods below.
