Update - Is this different? Parts of the audio are not working.

I just updated OBS. Now the sounds, and music that I play in Scenes is running (can see the mixer moving) but I cannot hear it. I tried output and monitor, but no sound. The desktop audio and the microphone both work fine.

What gives?

I checked all the setting in windows and OBS, removed and re-installed OBS, restarted computer, no audio.

Have you made a short test streaming? Is the audio coming there? Then it's really related to your local monitoring (device).
Are you using a laptop like me? I usually stick with "Headphones (Realtek...)" as my audio monitoring device, to prevent audio-feedback by accident. On the other hand - when no headphones are connected, my monitoring keep silent (just as yours).

Issues with using the "Standard" device (so depending on windows sound mapper) are also known.

And - at least - i made bad experiences with OBS-Studio too, that there sometimes monitoring keeps silent on sources, so that i've to turn monitoring off and switching it on again on that sources. Then it works usually.

Just my 2 cents on possibilities.

Yes I am also having this problem. This update is being very bad for me.
My microphone even stopped working and even restarting the OBS didn't solve it.
I had to restart the PC. VERY BAD

I'm having this exact issue with music as well - I can see meters move, but MP3s are not playing back audio in Studio

I should note that it does play in the actual stream. However, I'm not having any luck getting the MP3 to play back in Studio. Tried headphones, speakers, different files...nothing.

OK, this fixed the issue for me. On your audio source, click the 'Settings' cog and go to 'Advanced Audio properties'

Look for your source on the left (in my case 'Music Loop') and in the Audio Monitoring section, set it to 'Monitor and Output':

Hi Flynn, welcome to the forum. But... wrong thread!
Please make a new one and describe to the needed detail what you want to realize...
(especially the meaning of words like "directly")
