Unusual behavior of OBS when using 8 dumb USB cameras of the same type.

I don't remember which version of OBS we were talking about but back when Mac OS 10.12 was considered kind of old, OBS work perfectly fine with 12 different cameras plugged in, yes six perspectives in stereo, plus a capture card Plus the OBS virtual camera if it was available back then.

And then Apple decided to go change your operating system where multiple items that have the same USB name are not numbered. And a lot of glitches happen because of that not due to the fault of anyone at OBS except if there is a fault of not keeping up. But then again, who am I to assign blame? I have no idea how to program anything like this.

The problem comes is because I use multiple SQ 11s which are Chinese cameras made by multiple manufacturers and run off a generic driver.

The reason why I use those, in one word: stereoscopy.

Apparently now Mac OS apparently accommodates smart devices to naming themselves. However the problem comes is now Mac OS has the inability to differentiate same name items if these devices are not smart and able to name themselves.

And they said PC operating systems work exactly the same way too.

I got a couple questions and a way I think I could cope.

I noticed I can plug in general UVC cameras and I could access four on one scene and I can access three on another but as soon as I try to access the fourth on the second scene It causes glitches like OBS stops running and causes errors. If anyone needs me to be able to reproduce it again I could fairly easily.

I figured the only way around this is sweat most use four cameras and one capture card of slightly higher definition or six cameras where two of the cameras point at the screen in a stereoscopic manner to read the screen in 3D from a perspective close to the gamer (that's me).

That means manually unplugging and replugging in USB cables and also resorting myself to only having two main cameras and one video game scene and not much else.

Considering I know how to cheaply produce stereoscopy, if that is not amazing enough then no amount of work I could do could gain any viewers beyond what I already have.

Now I know I'm on Social Security, and I thought the sq-11s were the perfect solution, but I need to know. Are there any monoscopic cameras, like a webcam etc, that you could place side by side in a perfect plane that are two inches apart from each other from pupil to pupil, that is a smart cam that'll do 3D with a newly designed camera harness?

On a separate subject of the forum, I'll share tips I've discovered on stereoscopy.
