Bug Report Unstable Stream

I seem to have an odd issue with my Twitch stream as of this morning. Until now I have mitigated this with a build rollback, yet this morning it looked, well, borked up (for lack of a more edge-free term) with 0 Mbps, NO video output and instability reports on the dashboard and inspector combined. Topping it off, using the most recent build results in bat sh*t crazy frame drops of up to 65% on average.

I will follow up with a log file when I can (provided that I have one to use) but my hardware base consists of 16GB RAM, AMD FX 8320 CPU and a GeForce GTX 1070 so I at least wanted to mention that. Also, I'm tagging this as a bug report as it may very well be the case (though I'm not 100% on that).

Its your internet

11:20:04.873: Output 'adv_stream': Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 4141 (62.2%)

Your inetnet is too slow. What is your upload speed?

I've run several tests after some work on my end. Apparently I may have borked the MTU trying to optimize things.

Anyway, I decided to netshell the highest possible MTU back into Windows (1400 compared to 386) and hit speedtest.net for some comparisons:

I should also note that I specifically chose to use Chicago-area uplinks because of my ingest settings. For comparison, I am including Dallas-area equivalents for an alternate stream configuration should it be necessary (which is looking really unlikely as seen here):

CenturyLink:

As an aside, I don't have a Wi-Fi adapter specific to my primary computer so I am currently using the Internet Connection Sharing utility on my notebook PC to serve as both a second screen and Wi-Fi adapter in one convenient package. Not sure if it makes any difference, but it is only configured like that because I relocated my rig into another part of the house and don't have a separate adapter right now.

In most of these tests your internet is fast enough but in some it isn't. Just raw uplaod speed doesn't mean everything for streaming. You need to have enough data extremely consistently, because any data that isn't sent is dropped frame(s)

Again, this has only bothered my in OBS 0.16.6, prior to that I had done an uninstall/rollback to 0.13.2 and didn't have so much thrown at me, as shown here:

Again, this was using the Twitch test function, not an actual live session. As you can probably guess, this is also why I suspected a bug in the more recent version as a legitimate possibility, hence why I used the associated tag in the first place.

Another big issue: I don't seem to be getting any live video for some reason. Any idea if Twitch changed something on me?

Dude you do realize you can post a link to the log. Reading it like this is a bit crazy. I don't really know whats going on, lets wait for someone else to read this and see their opinion.

And after several troubleshooting sessions, I have come to a disappointing conclusion. While running Ethernet between my notebook and desktop I can only seem to run in SD format. I tried both HD720 and HD1080 and neither one cooperates for me. But unfortunately, it's the best I can do for now.

At least until Christmas, anyway. I'm going powerline afterward, when the Spring 2017 webcast season begins on Jan 2.
