You're saying streaming and recording in the same sentence and they are entirely two different things. Are you trying to RECORD locally on your laptop for a youtube video VIA the capture card or are you trying to STREAM to twitch via the capture card? The later will not work.
I have streamed with that capture card for years. I want to know if I can use it with the video capture device source instead of the window capture source.
This is basically my screen when streaming, aside from obs being minimized. I just have it up to show that it works. I want to avoid having to window capture my recording software, Arcsoft Capture Module, as it takes up a lot of room on my screen. If I minimize it, window capture won't show it on stream because I'm window capturing it. If I have it as a video capture device source it won't take up my one laptop screen. I am unsure why you deem it impossible to stream as I have many of times. If you still think it's impossible for me to stream with this laptop and capture card here's a video of me using that setup from the stream's perspective https://www.twitch.tv/singlescoop/v/53053503
Well this is awkward, but this is the OBS studio forum section not the regular OBS. I personally have never used regular OBS. If it was studio I could help you a little further with this.
So you would like to steam from the laptop using a single setup via obs? if so then you can use game / windows capture potentially if you want to only steam that and now the whole desktop.
Its work using studio imo over classic unless you have a reason to you classic? have you tried studio?
