Question / Help Unable to stream or record with OBS Studio .15.x

Hello All,

I typically end up resolving issues on my own, however, I've run into a road block with OBS Studio. I noticed that ever since I updated to 15.2, I haven't been able to stream or record. Oddly enough, the first day I updated to 15.2, I was able to, but not since. Clicking on the Stream button will prompt "Do you want to start streaming", but does nothing. Ditto with recording.

I noticed this on 7/22 when I was attempting to stream d it failed. Since then I've dropped back to 15.1, however, the issue still remains. I also swapped video cards and moved to a GTX 1060. I know that's not relevant, but I wanted to add that bit of info, just in case.

You appear to be trying to encode with VCE, but don't have an AMD video card. Start by selecting a supported encoder: x264 or NVENC.

Thanks for getting back to me. However, despite what the log shows, I assure you I am using VCE. VCE isn't even an option if the AMD card and drivers aren't available, which they aren't.

Not sure why VCE is even showing up in the logs.

Actually, following up on what you stated, I went through and checked every encode setting. And sure ensure, there was one that didn't reset. Well, it did but it was blanked out. Once I changed it to NVEC, it worked fine. I feel like an idiot now, but the issue has at least been resolved.
