Question / Help Unable to stream (Failed to open NVENC codec: Generic error in an external library)

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to OBS and was just trying it out today, initially I had problems with the black screen when I was trying to set up a stream. Eventually I managed to get the game display in OBS using Window Capture however I am still unable to start streaming.

I had a look around this forum and a few pages on Reddit and from that I tried updating my drivers, but unfortunately still have not had any luck.

I'm using a HP Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.5 GHz, 8 Gb of Ram, with a Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics card.

Any help would be much appreciated,

P.s sorry if the log is a little long, a lot of it was me messing around trying to get the game and/or chrome to display in OBS instead of the black screen.

Afaik the 940M has no NVENC support.

Damn, I was afraid of that, after actually looking around through the settings though I found I can stream if I switch it over to x264 (I had just been using the auto setup).
