Question / Help Unable to Start Recording Out of Nowhere

Hey everyone,

I just recently began running into a huge problem with OBS Studio which doesn't allow me to start recording any of the gameplay I'm trying to record. It worked perfectly fine for months, and I'm not sure what caused it and was hoping someone could help me out. When I click on the Start Recording button, I see a slight increase in CPU usage, yet the box still reads "Start Recording" no matter what I do. Any advice or insight would be hugely appreciated, thanks in advance!

Try to re-select your encoder in OBS Studio settings. Also, you may try to run Studio as admin.

neither of those worked... urgh SO frustrating... any other things anyone can think of to fix this??

Your log does not show a recording attempt in that session. Please try to start a recording, wait 30-60 seconds, then stop the recording before trying to upload the log file. Even if the recording does not start, this should provide extra information in the log for us to review.

What encoder? Where full log-file with admin mode? Most problems when recording don't start caused by NVENC, others by profile settings (create New Profile, please, or try Studio in portable mode in different folder: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-and-obs-studio-portable-mode-on-windows.359/).

Okay I'll upload the log when I get home but I realized that it definitely has something to do with me running my Oculus Rift, probably something to do with the most recent update to its firmware... Stay tuned for the new log though!
