I have a rather strange problem that started recently.
Basically: Sometimes I like to stream just my desktop (using display capture). It's something I've been doing for over a year with no problem. If I open OBS right this second I can see my display(s) in the preview window. If I start a stream with the Display capture open, it works fine until I switch scenes or hide the display capture. Then it turns just into a black screen. I can still stream games and other sources (webcam, etc).
If I start a stream with display capture hidden or in a different scene, when I switch to display capture, I'm met again with the black screen.
I've noticed I can't add Google Chrome as a window capture when this happens, I'm not sure if that's related but its something I noticed. I can add other things as window captures (like streamlabs chatbot), but if I try to add chrome it shows up under the list and stuff, but not in the preview/stream.
This isn't the worst problem in the world, as I can still stream games and the like, but it's sad to see this not working.
I'll upload a log file, though I'm not sure how that will help.
A few things I've tried:
-Adding/removing Display sources.
-Turning on/off NVIDIA's Shadowplay (or whatever they call it now lol)
-making sure everything is updated.
I'm using OBS 21.0.1 (64 bit, Windows)
here's a log file from my last stream:
