Ultra high CPS usage and frame rate loss

All of a sudden I'm getting very very high CPU usage and frame rate loss on my mid-2020 MacBook Pro to the point where the stream was virtually useless last Sunday. Audio came through fine. But, pictures were "still" and only changed every so often.

I did a speed test at the church and it's given me 400/150, which Is more than ample; and we've been streaming without Incident for months (since we changed service providers).

I brought the computer home, dumbed down my CPU Usage Preset to "veryslow." The computer Is showing 80% CPU usage still.

Have checked, and OBS says that it is up-to-date (running 27.0.1) and I don't remember there being an update recently.

And to add more fuel to the fire, if I stream directly through the Vimeo website Interface It apparently streams just fine; which leads me to believe that the problem Is with OBS, and not the computer Itself.

Anybody else having a similar situation? If so, were you able to resolve It? I need to come up with something before next Sunday's services.

Hi Robert,
We are working thru some issues with OBS at our church as well, and with all my investigation I would say that you went backward on the change to the CPU Usage Preset. Instead of changing to "very slow" it should be set at very fast or even super fast if you can tolerate the reduction in quality. The faster the speed, the lower the demand on the CPU.

Thanks! Someone else pointed that out to me on one of the other forums I posted to. What I get for testing near Midnight. :-)

Per someone's suggestions I went to delete the scenes until I figured out if one of those was the culprit. But, I ended up deleting all of them and starting from scratch.

Went by the church yesterday and ran some tests, and things worked just fine (after resetting that preset). I'll probably get there early on Sunday morning just to make sure everything is going well.

One thing that was odd though. I did a speed test and came up with 800/400! The other day I got 400/150. Granted, that should've been more than enough for streaming. But, it makes me wonder how I lose half my speed all of a sudden, and then it comes back the next time I check.
