Question / Help UI flickering on OBS - little performance drop

Hello there,

I'm using OBS for several years now and only ever encountered some weird problems with Final Fantasy XIV. Since this was the only one that gave me this and similar problems, I dismissed it this single game - until I wanted to stream Vermintide 2.

I don't think it's easy to describe the problem: When streaming (or even watching the preview on OBS), the game a bit choppy. Ingame, it runs at 60fps without issues.
Now, I realized that menus and overlay text is "flickering" which is probably connected with the other problem
Here is an example: https://puu.sh/zDTjD/4f1aeeac4b.gif

I reinstalled OBS Studio - still the same
I uploaded GPU drivers - still the same
I "game Capture" in window, borderless window and full screen - still the same
Game on max and low graphics - no difference.

I'm running the following rig:

Hello forum,

Since I got no replies, I dug a bit deeper. I forgot to mention that Vermintide runs on DX12, but that DX11 suffers from the same problem.
Here is the footage of a current stream with a clean-installed OBS.

(video above started at 11:21:20.786)

Note that window capture doesn't work on this game for some reason, I'm getting a black screen that wasn't possible to get fixed by the method in the sticky.

I tried StreamLabs OBS with a native 720p resolution and I still encountered lagged frames.

However, streaming over GeForce Experience solves the stuttering and performance issues, as seen here:

I'm happy to provider further logs/tests if requested, I'm aware that my posts aren't rich of useful information.

Hi! i had the same problem, apparently its an Framerate Issue, setting the Game's Vsync to 60 FPS resolved it for me.

Hi, i have the exact same issue, both with StreamlabsOBS and original OBS and found it to be resolved when you turn vsync on in-game and cap the fps at 30. Capping at 60 still had the flickering :(

I know this thread is few months old but I just wanted to add that I was having the same flickering issue since a resent update from Streamlabs. Had to go into the Nvidia control panel Manage 3D Settings and turn off Vertical Sync completely for it stop...
