Hello together,

i installed OBS as explained on the website via sudo apt-get install obs-studio and the appliaction runs fine.

When i want to capture Audio/Microphone it stays silent.

I added those sources (PulseAudio) via Plus-Button and selected the existing sources. Other applications like Teamspeak, Skype etc. are working without any issues. I tried to use the extact device like "Hyper X headset" instead of "Default" as i opened the properties.
Unfortunately pavucontrol displays sound on microphone and speakers but OBS stays silent.

Is there some setting i am missing? The startup (starting OBS via terminal) displays no errors nor warnings either.

Best regards
Matthias

Hi Matthias, let's see if I can help you, I also had similar problems with Xubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal.

In the system tray go to audio, audio mixer, Input devices at bottom, show hardware imput devices, ok. check that the mic has been selected and that the bar increases when the mic picks up a sound.

In the OBS app, leave the default by clicking on the Mic/Aux gear.
it is good to restart the obs after you have done the configuration, and tip me if it worked.
I'm using version 25.0.4 (64 bit).

Sorry for my English.

Hello Gabrisover,

thank you for your tips :)
I already checked the audio and when i hear music or when i speak into my microphone, there is a visual indicator which shows me, there is a signal. When i use tools like Teamspeak or Discord i am able to communicate and hear other people on my headset or speakers without any issues.

It seems that OBS is not able to grab the audio signals but i do not understand why. I think there is some connection missing.

Best regards
Matthias

Are you using the snap version?
I say because she's been in trouble for not being official.
