Question / Help Twitch Alerts?

Just a quick question because it goes back and forth for me. If I close out the stream labs tab in google, will I still get follower notifications, donations, and such? I had it closed for 2 streams and I still got notifications, then I had it opened and it wouldn't notify me when I got 3 new followers. Then it was vice versa, only did it when it was open, and didnt do it when it was close. Also the stream labels app for windows, I downloaded it and have a recent follower text that updates every time I get a new follower but do I have to launch it and keep it up for the time that I stream? Thanks in advance!

For alerts, you only need to add them as a browser source in OBS. You don't need to open them in Chrome or anything like that. For apps that update text files, they need to be running while you're using OBS.
