Question / Help Trying to stream from analog roxio USB capture device - NO AUDIO!

hey there, so i've been fiddling with this idea of streaming much much older pc games, and my current razer ripsaw won't capture a VGA port (to my knowledge) so i've been trying to get this roxio usb device to work, its the one that comes with the VHS to DVD kit.

now, it detects in obs as a capture device, and i even have picture (at 0 delay, too!) but for some reason, i have no audio no matter what settings i use...

if i go into roxio's DVD recordy program that it comes with, it detects the audio, but in obs its got nothing, no audio level coming from the device at all (i know audio only records from the stream/recordings, but my test recordings also have no audio)

any help would be appreciated! thanks!

NVM, just figured it out myself!

This specific roxio device didn't classify the audio and video under the same channels as i guess its routing the audio more then actually encoding anything (maybe?)

anyways, the solution was, make 2 sources! (this normally doesnt work, i fyou have a source open, even in another program, you can only use that source once, but for some reason, this works)

anyways, make the following sources:

Video Capture Device (roxio Video Capture USB)
set your desired settings... blah blah blah...

then, make a seperate source

Audio Input Capture (Line (Roxio Video Capture USB)

And thats it!
with this, you can record anything down to a commadore 64 or atari 2600! currently im capturing an old pc, using an S-video cable as the input source, and splicing the headphone jack out to red/white RCA output :)

Hello. I am using the same device I think but it's for a Mac. The only problem I'm having is that OBS isn't recognizing my Roxio video capture usb as a capture device. It works in the Roxio program but not in OBS. Thoughts?

I also have an old Sony video Cam that has RCA out to the Roxio USB video capture device. I haven't been able to have OBS recognize the Roxio USB device. Is it even possible to connect this setup to OBS? Audio is not important.

Well, i tell u Whut....only reason i JOINED this Forum was to address this important Issue; i have a rather OLD Roxio Dongle from back in 2012 but it could be even older than that....lemme try n take a Picture of the thing with this stupid HP Craptop....HAH i DID IT lol...as you can see, it is Old, first Gen i suspect...Video works fine; no Audio at all. tried what our Brother suggested Above, but to no avail. the Roxio software recognizes BOTH Signals but is choppy as BALLS so i of course thought of using OBS as a Recording Medium.....no Dice. NO AUDIO. i am not sure why there would be no Audio for OBS but the Roxio Software detects Audio; it doesnt really make sense. oh i will find a way around THAT shit if i have to stick my Laptop in front of SPEAKERS to get the Audio i dont give a shit....but it IS weird and its BUGGING me.
