I recently bought a Lenovo Y740
CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H (2.60GHz, up to 4.50GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 Cores, 12MB Cache)
Graphic Card : NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 2060 6 GB
Audio: Behringer Xenyx Q802USB Mixer for a XLR Mic Behringer Xenyx Q802USB
Streaming to restream.io
Laptop is streaming wireless.
I'm mainly streaming Rust and Ace Combat 7 right now and streaming mic audio through the mixer also discord audio with friends.
Using OBS, I'd like to stream and record at the same time and ran into issues trying to do both. I can stream fine without issues.
Steps I took in-game for Ace Combat and Rust :
Rust
- Press "F1" to open console and type in "fps.limit 60" then "enter" to limit the frame rate to 60 FPS
Ace Combat 7
-Limiting the frame rate on Ace Combat 7 to 60 FPS under the graphics settings for the game.
OBS
Output Settings:
Video Settings:
With those settings for streaming I have some dropped frames as seen with the log below for Ace Combat 7 :
Also I disabled the preview in OBS, I heard that can improve things.
So here is what I'd like to know and what I would like to do:
I'd like to know if it is possible for me to play Rust or Ace Combat without limiting the frame rate to 60fps and be able to stream and record using OBS (If I have no choice and have to limit the frame rate then that's fine) , I know this might be too much to do on this laptop, however I have another laptop (2nd PC we will call it) with a Intel i7-6600U CPU 2.60 GHz. My plan was to wire both laptops up using the wired nic and put them on a switch that outside of the Internet network (ie , Wireless network still connected to internet for both laptops , Wired connected to gigabit switch with both laptops).
-Would I be able to use the NDI plugin and Stream and encode from the 2nd PC? Or Can I set the main laptop for gaming and streaming and offload the recording to the 2nd PC with the NDI setup or Vice Versa ?
-If the NDI setup doesn't work would I be able to do this easily with a capture card?
With my current settings what do I need to adjust in order to Stream and Record without dropped frames or If I wanted to do this should I do the 2 PC NDI solution ?
I appreciate any feedback or advice ahead of time for taking a look at my issue.
