My setup is a little weird. I'm running on an Alienware Laptop that has a built in NVidia 2070 attached to a 1080p monitor.
The problem arises because I also have an eGPU attached that has an NVidia 3070 ti in it, that card has a total of three 1440p monitors attached to it. My primary monitor is the middle one of these three.
I want to be able to capture from both these displays, but every time I want to switch back and forth, I have to dig around in the settings to adjust the canvas size.
Is there some way to set the canvas size to 1920x1080 for the display capture on the laptop display, and also have a separate canvas size set to 2560x1440 for the 1440p monitor?
It occurs to me that .you may not need a setup quite a complicated as I have to reproduce this. I suspect that the following setup will allow testing:
1. Set up a system with two screens, they can be the same resolution if that's all you have available.
2. If they are different resolutions, skip step 3
3. If they're the same size, right click o n the desktop, select display settings, select one of the monitors, and then scroll down and reduce it's resolution. Windows will warn you about this, but just tell it that everything is fine.
4. Now set up a capture device on the smaller of the two screens, and make sure to set the canvas size to the same resolution
5. Attempt to set up a capture device on the larger screen, and note that the actual capture area is the same size as the smaller screen.
