Question / Help Trying (failing) to stream outside network using MonaServer

I'm trying to access my stream from outside my network but running into problems. I've created an ini file for MonaServer and changed the http port to 8082 which it accepts. I have set port forwarding on my router for that port to my PC.
Internally in VLC I can use my PC's IP address (rtmp://INTERNAL_IPADDRESS) and view the stream fine, externally if I use http://EXTERNAL_IPADDRESS:8082 or RTMP://EXTERNAL_IPADDRESS:8082 or RTMP://EXTERNAL_IPADDRESS then it fails, please can someone advise?

Any suggestions of something other than MonaServer that's as easy to use if that's the issue?

yes.. that worked for me!
I had exactly the same issue, while testing on my lan all worked but when i went outside failed!
I'm using openvpn so i can access my own lan and RTMP server with monaserver on my pc ! It worked only when i finally gave access to port 1935, yes very easy but i did you fail at begin !
I was giving internet access through my Android phone ( android hot spot ) while being connected to openvpn and i THOUGHT that my gopro would go through my vpn tunnel (cause i was using hotspot on android ) but nope, so i opened 1935 and redirect it to my dynamic dns !!

Could one of ya'll show what you had to do for this? I don't really understand what you guys had to do exactly in order to this to work. Thanks homies
