When I start and stop recording with the camcorder I want OBS to follow recording automatically, starting and stopping recordings when the record button on the camcorder is pressed.
This feature is common for cinematographers / videographers and already widely available with backup hardware recorders like the Atomos series of portable monitor / recording devices, as an example. The feature is accomplished though the HDMI connection when it is enabled from the camcorder.
Within the field of legal videography it is important to simultaneously record backup copies of depositions to insure the process is captured even if there is a failure of one of the recording sources. Having the recording trigger automatically takes away the possibility of human error which is an important point.
This is probably a pretty easy feature to enable so hopefully a genius out there can make it happen!
