Transparent images

I am flustered with the issue of copying and pasting images into streamlabs obs. I have a banner (.png file type). The border is a christmas holy pattern. When I paste into streamlabs the little white and black squares go in as well. I do not want the squares. Ergo the edge is flush. I just want to see the leaves. Can anyone help? Is this even possible? Below is an example. I just want the leaves, not the squares.

OBS does NOT make Streamlabs...It may look similar but it a different program..
