Question / Help Transition using a scene?

Hello, is there a way to define a scene and use it for the purpose of a transition effect?

Let me clarify: I have a scene (lets call it X) that uses a media source to play a 2-second video. If I am on scene A and then click on scene X and a second later on scene B, it works nicely, it blends from scene A into the video and then into scene B.

I know that I should make a transparent video (which seems difficult/expensive from what I know) and use it with stinger transition - but it seems like it would not be needed if there was a way to do above as a transition automatically. And it would be much easier. Am I wrong? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance and sorry if this was already asked.

You can use the advanced scene switcher or automatic scene switcher plugins to do something like this. You can set a condition so that every time you change to Scene X, you then immediately transition to Scene B after Z seconds.

The only problem with this is that you can't use it to transition between arbitrary scenes. It presumes it knows that every time you select your "transition" scene you want to go to a particular scene after that one. It's not like a stinger, where you're setting the stinger as a transition itself, it's more like setting a rule that says that certain scenes always go in certain sequences.
