Hey guys,

after a very long time trying to fix my problem by trail and error. Using google. I'm reaching out to you guys and hope for the best.

Two weeks ago i updated my streaming pc from

AMD Threadripper 1950x
Gigabyte x399
64 gb 3000 Ram
Nvidia 1650

to an

AMD Threadripper 5955WX
ASUS Pro WS WRX80E
64 GB 3200 Ram
Radeon RX7600 Puls

Im using some PCI Cards:
Elgato Camlink Pro
Elgato 4k60
Elgato HD60x (USB)
Magewell Dual HDMI
Magewell 4k+

I had no issues at all using all the hardware in my old machine. just updated, because i needed more pci slots.
in my new machine for some reason i have a shit tone of cpu load for no reason. even when obs is just running without streaming i have an cpu load of 30%.
When i start streaming it goes up to 90-100, but only in some of my scenes. these have been fine on my old streaming pc, but the new one can't handle them for some reason.

in the screenshots you can see the cpu usage while streaming. in my gaming scene and in the other one which produces the high cpu load.
i tried to deactivate the overlay stuff. like animated cam frames, but it did not change any thing. (the heavy load is not that high at the moment because nothing is running on the pc except the desktop picture)

Thats my latest log file from obs. (yes i checked it myself and tried to google all my errors)

most of the people around threads i use to read regarding that topic are talking about the webm files, but i don't understand why my old pc is able to handle all that stuff and the new one which is clearly stronger isn't able to handle that.

what i tried:
bios updates and downgrades
switched the ram sticks
used h264 threads
disable webm files, made smaller webm files
changed almost every setting of every capture card
tried windows 11 and windows 10
frehsly installed obs without old settings and scenes

thank you very much for taking your time to read this. i appriate you and your time.

have a great weekend and take care.

Hey,

is the OBS process consuming the CPU or is it another Process that is consuming the CPU when starting up OBS? In your screenshots from OBS the software itselfs reports only about 8% of usage.

Is there a Reason two of your Monitors using a refresh rate of 59hz and one is using 60hz? Or just the default settings after installation?

Did you tried to disable SMT to see if there is any change?

Did you looked with a software like HWMonitor to your Cores and the different Clock Speeds, Temprature, Power Consumptane and Voltages? To see if there is someting odd happening?

Did you compared your OBS Logs from the working system with the Logs of the new system to maybe see any obvious difference?

Is this High CPU Load only happening when using OBS?

Kind Regards
Alex

The log provided shows rendering lag, which means the problem is coming from sending video frames either to or from the video card.

Yes not wondering when CPU Spikes at 100%. The question is why such CPU is sturgeling with such a workload.

hey cooksen,

first of all thanks for answering to my problem.

there is no reason for the different refreshrates in my system. i kept my streaming pc alle down to standart, when it comes to installations. drivers and obs. i change them for now that all have 60hz, but that doesn'T effect the problem.

i disabled SMT via bios and it didn't change anything at all.

yes i did check all the temps, frequenzy. nothing problamtic at theis point.

the comparission of the logs dont show anything special except the hardware parts are different.

yeah the high cpu load just appears in obs. i was running the program latencymon and for some reason at some point wdf01000.sys get a really big delay while running obs. that means something is wrong with the drivers. i installed the newest driver of all the parts, but in appears to still happen.
at the moment my guess is that some hardware parts are broken.

greetings

hey harold,

i had this guess too, because on the board is a vga graphics unit. disabled it so it didn't appear in windwos anymore, but the problem is still active.

Hey,

the wdf01000.sys delay is often caused by USB Devices. Is this also happening with nothing plugged in to your system? (Only mouse and keyboard?)

Kind Regards

Yeah i had an Elgato HD60x and a CamLink pluged in while testing.
But i also tried it without usb devices, because i thought that could make trouble. their was no difference
