Question / Help theHunter Call of the Wild Game capture not working?

Just curious if anyone else streams and got game capture to work for theHunter Call of the Wild? I have zero problems using game capture on almost 40 games installed "which is like all of them", but for some reason this game is just a black screen with sound. I tried display capture and still black. Tried windowed mode, game capture still black. Finally, I got it to work by display capture, windowed mode; Which most should know is very laggy. I have tried compatibility modes on OBS and Admin. Made sure no other software was capturing. Only way is display cap, windowed mode. Really would like a fix if someone has one. Thanks.

P.S. Using OBS Studio 17.0.2

Can you provide a log that has a capture attempt in it? Might tells us something.

I have same issue as well.

Using OBS Studio I tried to capture using the Game Capture and targetting the window name, the window class and the executable name... none of it worked.

Tried with the Anti-cheat hooking on as well as off, and no better result from that.

OBS is capturing something cause the capture is completely black (blocks any other captures in the background / lower layers) but it does display the mouse when moving inside the capture window, just not the game itself.

Also tried capturing using Display and this worked fine, however it's much more demanding on the system when streaming. Display capture also means it may accidentally capture desktop, other overlaying windows and such that you do not want to show on a stream.

It looks like a fix has been proposed. I don't have an ETA on when it can be pushed out as an update, though.

In the meantime, you should be able to use window capture, or display capture as a workaround.

So guys. Here is the workaround. Set the game to Windowed mode. It must be borderless so in your steam options, right click the game and choose "Set Launch Options" insert the "/borderless". Now in OBS studio choose WINDOW CAPTURE. I know that is kind of silly but it does work.

Sorry for the bump. I have been streaming this like crazy, but have to keep explaining to my peeps why the frame rates suck. Has anyone come up with a proper fix so game capture can work in theHunter Call of the Wild

Unfortunately, with the latest version of OBS Studio, this issue still occurs.

For many games, yes. Very common requirement.
