I just updated to winds 10 Pro 64, clean install not an upgrade, and just downloaded/installed the newest installer for multiplatform OBS and am getting this error every time I start the program:

THE PROGRAM CAN'T START BECAUSE MSVCR120.DLL IS MISSING FORM YOUR COMPUTER. TRY REINSTALLING THJE PROGRAM TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
I tried reinstalling the software but it's still there.

NOTE The program DOES start (I think in 32bit mode) after I close the error box and works without issue, but the error is there every time I start the program from the default desktop exe. The 64bit exe will only give the error and will not start if I try to run it form the program file folder.


PS: I can't find the log file to upload, where is that again? thanks

I have a similar problem, I cannot install the Studio or the Classic version. Both say I require the MC Redistributable but it doesn't recognize it. I already installed it for my architecture but even after restarting my PC, the installer says I don't have it installed and it needs to download it.

You need to install them both. And make sure they are the 2013 versions, as linked above.

I had the same problem. It couldn't find msvcr120. I searched missing msvcr120 and quite a few sites came up that wanted to be paid came up but microsoft had a site that had a down load file that was critical (don't know why they didn't auto download it. Long story sort that fixed the problem

Just a heads up.

NEVER download these DLLs from a non-Microsoft website. ALWAYS download from Microsoft servers or you will be sorry (i.e. virus, trojan, etc.)

These are very important files that are part of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages used for building native C/C++ Windows applications. You can get the latest packages here:

I believe OBS Studio is built with Visual Studio 2013.
