Question / Help The New OBS update is making my obs FPS 40 while my in game FPS stays over 200

since the new update came out I cannot stream with a decent fps. it is usually somewhere around 40 which makes no sense because my in game fps is 200. obs has never done this before and always have given be good frames. Plz Help!
 
I wanted to log in and say the same. The previous version of OBS 19.0.3 I as able to stream with very fast CPU preset, with a 2500 bit rate, 1280x720 30fps stable using the same settings my frames are inconsistently sub 30. Im going to roll back to the previous release for a bit to see if that helps.

how do you go back to the old version?

Select 19.0.3 from the list. Uninstall your current version of OBS but select the option to keep all of your user settings when it comes up that way you don't have to rebuild all of your scenes and sources.

Edit: Rolled back to 19.0.3 had the same problem. Had a win10 update yesterday when I wasn't streaming going to roll that back too. Going to get a cold beer from the fridge because of this.

Try uninstalling OBS completely, restarting, Downloading OBS 20.0 installer and doing a fresh install. That seems to be working for me now.
