Question / Help The cause of these weird black boxes (pic included)

Here's a little segment from a Hearthstone recording I started making:

It looks fine when I'm playing it. And it's the same resolution as the recording and output: 1280x720 @ 30fps. No resource issues to speak of.

I updated the video drivers about two days ago, so I know that's not the issue. Here is my log file. Any pointers to head in the right direction are much appreciated.

I'm having a bit of difficulty even researching this problem. Since I don't think anyone has an actual solution, I wonder if any of you could help me naildown keywords in order to eventually find a solution.

"Black boxes" reveals incorrect results (almost exclusively aspect ratio / black bars queries). "Artifacting" has resulted in results that have to do with recording - quite similar to my problem - but mostly addressing the lack of sharp edges in traditional screen-vid capture. Nothing about these black 'regions'.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response.

I'm using "Capture specific window" and then selecting the executable. This technique has worked without incident for all other games that I play.

In case it's relevant, Hearthstone is running in windowed mode (so I can capture stuff without lost real-estate [16:9] on my 16:10 monitor).
