The brightest parts of my video are not as bright as my monitor.

I noticed that the white parts in my video aren't as white as they are on my monitor. I also noticed this on the yellows and to a lesser extent other bright colors. It seems to be more of a problem after the video is exported because OBS is displaying the right color when I am recording, it just has the muted colors as when I am playing back my video. Is this normal and how can I fix it?

In the "Advanced" tab, try toggling your "Color Range" between partial and full.

I tried that. both settings seem to have no difference

maybe it is the color space option then, or perhaps your monitor is 10-bit and displays more colors than OBS records. it could also be that your video player is configured differently.

I forgot about this: Have you tried changing the color format from NV12 to I444 (or RGB)?

Probably a playback issue, use VLC or another decent media player.
