Terrible stream quality on 10700k, 5700 XT? (Twitch)

Hey guys! Just built a new rig. Spent the best part of the past 2 days tinkering with OBS settings on a single PC setup and haven't been able to get decent quality. Very frustrating. Here are my complete specs.

i7 10700k 3.8Ghz 8-Core Processor
MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA200 Motherboard
CORSAIR VENGEANCE 32GB RAM
SAMSUNG EVO 1TB M.2 SSD
RADEON RX 5700 XT 8GB GAMING X VIDEO CARD
CORSAIR RM 750 W 80+ GOLD CERTIFIED FULLY MODULAR ATX PSU

Everything feels smooth when I am playing. Very pixelated and SLOW on the Twitch end. I've tried both x264 and AMD encoders. 2500 - 6000 bitrates, veryfast to medium, and going from 1080 to 720. Am I just missing the perfect combo of settings? Why is this happening? My older PC which had a way worse CPU and an Nvidea GeForce GTX 960 looked better than this, by a LONG shot. What gives?

Thanks guys!

Hi Guv,

I'm not 100% sure if what I have to offer is valid but someone will correct this eventually if it's not. The images are my settings and I don't have issues that chat complains about when I stream, and my chat tells me when there are.

Give these a try and if they don't work, someone more knowledgeable than I will help. The first is the Output screen and the second is the Video screen in the OBS settings:

Output:
Output_Screen.PNG

Video:
Video_Screen.PNG

Hopefully this helps!

Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Both look terrible.
Internet Speed is 600/20
I will post a log within the next couple hours when I get home.

To low bitrate for 1080p and using the veryfast x264 preset, also using zero latency and turning optimizations off with that (this mode was implemented for video calls not for streaming) and decrease the quality even more. This setting will may work for LoL or other low motion stuff but for Cod with the fast movement and WoW with lots of gras they are not suited at all and will produce a awful looking stream.

A basis to start would be
x264 fast or faster preset, depending if your CPU can handle that in your games.
1080p 60 fps
bitrate 8000
If this still produces not a good looking stream, going down with the resolution to 900p and x264 preset medium

Ok, I’ll try this when I get home and throw a log your way. Appreciate it big time.

And uncheck "Enforce streaming service bitrate limits" on the output tab of OBS

Alright, just ran a quick stream at 8000, faster, 1080, 60fps

here is the log

could you also link the twitch video to it?
Your OBS installations seems to be a littlebit trashed, but still working. So that should result in a good looking stream.

If you not encouter any strange behaviour no

looks pretty normal, your font size of other players seems a littlebit narrow, but that is a WoW thing and has nothing to do with OBS.
Beside that you could change your color space under advanced to 709.

Unfortunately still terrible quality after a fresh install of OBS with the settings you gave me. Here is another log.

Also, 8k bitrate causes the stream to only start half the time. fails to download on Twitch it seems.

Alright,

6000 kbps
CPU: fast
1920 x 1280
30

these settings seem to be the best I can get it. If anyone has any extra advice to how I could polish it even a sliver more I'd be interested. Here is the last log file and I suppose i'll just have to settle with this quality. Thank you so much for your help!
