Question / Help Syncing multiple IP cameras

Hello,

I'm super new to OBS but I feel I have done my due dilligence reading up on the topics and searching the forums, so I'm posting hoping for help. I'm trying to rig up a multi camera instant replay system for martial arts tournaments. I have purchased 4 wireless IP cameras that can RTSP stream and paired them with a nice wireless router (which connects to my laptop via ethernet, no internet involved). I have added each of the cameras to OBS but the camera's video feeds are not in sync.

I have tried adding video delays to get them in sync, but it doesn't stick for long. If I change scenes, the cameras aren't fully synced when I go back to the "all 4 cameras" scene.

-Can someone please help me find a way to get multiple IP cameras to sync?
--Either in OBS or in another program that OBS can pull from?
----Is there a plugin that does this?

Please Halp,

-Z

You can use VLC to capture the cameras and then use the VLC source plugin to pull them into OBS.

OBS itself seems to handle RTSP poorly for some reason.

That said, there's nothing in a system like this that is keeping cameras like that in sync, and varying network conditions even on a good wired network will cause changes that cause skips and dropouts that will make cameras like that drift. If you absolutely need rock solid sync, RTSP is not the way to go-- you want cams that produce a signal over HDMI or SDI that you can capture with hardware, or that produces an NDI feed over a network, which will have a clock signal that can be used for sync.
