Hi!
i'm a live musician setting up a show. i want to push one button to advance through a list of events that run 3 things simultaneously:
* an audio track
* a MIDI to DMX stage lighting cue track
* a video on a projector screen
Some options that i've been trying:
(1) trigger OBS scenes via MIDI from Ableton
i thought that the Advanced Scene Selector would do it. Under Network, there's the option "Start client (Receives scene switches messages)". i entered the IP address of my computer, but it doesn't connect.
In Ableton Live 11, the sessions view has master scenes to launch audio tracks and MIDI tracks that control stage lights through the DMXIS plugin.
In the MIDI settings, i chose Control Surface: Launchkey. In Output i can choose either the laptop, LoopBe Internal MIDI, or Bome MIDI translator.
To route the signal, i've tried through rtpMIDI and WebSockets Server.
(2) trigger master scenes in Ableton via OBS scene selection
Again in Advanced Scene Selector / Network, there is "Start server (Sends scene switch messages to all connected clients)".
Is this a MIDI signal that could be received by Ableton?
How can it be intercepted?
The button that i push to advance to the next video could be on the computer keyboard, or ideally on a Boss foot switcher, but it's not currently being recognized in OBS. i also could use a MIDI piano if OBS would recognize it...
(3) trigger everything with Autohotkey or another app?
i'm sure this app (www.autohotkey.com) could do it, but the programming is over my head...
Thanks!
