Suggestion: Redesign GUI (and a question about the rendering process)

Hi Guys,
at the moment, Scenes and Sources are a good start to create perspectives, especially while producing a multicam-situation or several kinds of split-screens. But, when you have a discussion with (for e.g. 3 or more people) and lots of cameras, it's crazy to have all the necessary lower thirds (with all the names) in all (each of the) "sources". So, please introduce a "Global" section.

currently:
SCENES | SOURCES

next step:
GLOBAL | SCENES | SOURCES

Global could have all kind of overlays (like vignettes, masks, global color correction/-grading), also "Station-ID", lower-thirds, inserts, other graphical elements, like borders/placers and much, much more...

And the good thing: adding this kind of logical element within the GUI would not affect previous workflows for those who do not need it. Because when users do not use the global section, they would use OBS like before. Another advantage would be that Audio could be split completely from video and this could help to use several audio-resources (like external audio-equipment/-interfaces), especially if "just" a special channel - for e.g. channels 22, 23, 24 and 27 - should be used... all could be controlled independently, while live show.)

What do you think about this?

Regards,
Johannes

Ps: is it true, that for the renderer the most best input-file-type is uncompressed video and audio? I know, lot's of drive-space is in need, but rendering might be much more efficient, because the renderer does not have to uncompress the video first to - then - process all content and recompress it again... should I use 8-bit oder 10-bit video?

This is referred to as a Downstream Key (DSK) and is already implemented in the underlying OBS code, but has no UI for it yet.

Wonderful, hope that I can use it soon. OBS is a powerful tool ❤️ (especially when it will get SDI-playout thru BMD-Decklink/UltraStudio/other similar equipment.

And the "PS" about the renderer? Is my guess correct? What native format is for the rendering engine the most efficient? 8 or 10 bit uncompressed?
