Suggestion - Putting in a pause button

As the title says i'd suggest to build in a pause button. If a mistake happens while recording, i have to edit 2 recordings together, which takes time and sometimes even reduces the quality of the recordings. Also every video i have to edit takes surely 50 times longer through the editing and rerendering. I'd need that pause button. I'd really really need it. Please put it in there sometime in the future.

You can also do linear editing without re-encoding the files with tools like Avidemux and ffmpeg

Hi Jim,

i've just send a donation of 50$. OBS studio is so great but it would so much greater with a pause button for local recoding. Please add it ! As soon as it is done, i send you another 50$. Thanks so much for your work.

Asking for the same thing everyone else is. Just upgraded to v18 and still no pause button. Would be nice to have a hot key toggle pause/unpause. Much appreciated! Nice software.

Can we do that? Pay to give priority to certain features? Provided there's no structural objection of course.

Jim more then likely won't give higher priority to features because people pay for it. Feel free to pay someone else willing to code it though.
