Hi there,
Apologies if this subject has already been brought up but I am wanting a solution for my recording method.
I record in my house with a couple of friends in the room with me and we use multiple audio tracks, one for voice, one for gameplay (to avoid copyright strikes for game soundtracks on YouTube without having to cut out our voices too.) The problem with this is that we cannot hear ourselves through the headphones and have to do the old one ear on, one ear off trick. Monitoring our voices in the advanced audio settings forces our voice to be in the desktop Windows audio mix which we do not want at all. Without faffing about with Virtual Audio Cables (mostly because I don't understand how to use them after watching many tutorials) I'm suggesting that OBS have the ability to instead of capturing desktop sounds from Windows to capture specific applications such as Chrome, Discord or video games and allow us to use that audio on separate tracks in the Advanced Audio Settings and have individual sliders to make it easy for Twitch audiences to hear something at a different level to what the broadcaster does, giving us a lot more control.
This way I can hear myself without my voice being thrown into a single channel with the other sounds, avoid copyright claims on YouTube with the ability to mute parts without muting myself and friends, while streaming listen to music or sounds without the stream hearing them (again avoiding copyright) and have more control over what goes in and out of my recordings.
I think a lot of people could find this useful for different reasons.
