So first things first, my specs:

i7 6700k @ 4.6ghz
Evga Gtx 1080 FTW @ 2ghz
32 GB (4 x 8gb) @ 3000Mhz
All Games on SSDs (including OS)
Windows 10 64 bit
MAIN DISPLAY: 2560 x 1440 @ 144hz

INTERNET SPEEDS: 70-110 megabytes down, 11-12 megabytes up

Anyways, Secondly is my problem.
So recently I formatted windows and reinstalled everything fresh. So When I tried to re setup OBS I changed the settings I remembered, but I dont think they are optimal. Either way when I set it to downscale to 900p it seems to be zoomed in not fitting to the screen.

So 1: I wanted to get some setting suggestions for optimal twitch streaming.
2: How to fix the weird zooming in when previewing or streaming.

Thanks for your time!

  1. I assume you are not partnered with twitch yet:
    1280 x 720p | 30 fps | 2000-2500 bitrate

  2. Set the OBS Base resolution to 2560x1440 (your desktop and games probably run at that resolution)
Then set the downscale resolution to your liking (720p for twitch should be a good start). A fullscreen source should then still fit exactly into the OBS preview area.
