Hello, I have tried every single settings setup I can find including the one from a moderator and I cannot seem to get a recording that is a smooth 60 fps WITHOUT stuttering.

Here is my hardware.
  • Intel Skylake i7 6700k (Overclocked 7%)
  • MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X OC Edition (Overclocked 10%)
  • 237 Mega Bit per second Internet connection
  • 1 Terabyte drive for my OS and Games.
  • 64GB SSD Drive with OBS installed on and recording to.
  • 16GB DDR4 Memory ( G.Skill RipJaw V Series 3200)
  • Samsung 4k Monitor 24". (Using 1440p 59.95hz while gaming. While recoding in 3640x2160 downscaled to 1080p at 59.94 FPS.)
All I am trying to do is simply record decent looking 1080p60 videos without stutter. I have come close to a clean 1080p60 video that looked decent with minimal stuttering but I don't want any stutter at all. I have tried using Simple and advanced, I have used the x264 encoder and the nvenc encoder. If I record using x264 with a CRF=20 or 25 the stuttering is negligible however the image looks as if its worse than 720p. I have tried CRF and CBR with x264 and CBR and CQP with Nvenc. Not sure of the differences when it comes to CRF, CBR, and CQP I just followed a guide. Both encoders seem to deliver almost what I want. Just not quite.

Lastly here is my log file.

Any help on my settings and advice on what I should be expecting in terms of quality would be appreciated, I have no clue what my hardware is capable of when it comes to recording and maybe my expectations are just way to high.

Disable multi-adapter compatibility in game capture.
Use simple output mode, set recording quality to indistinguishable and use NVENC.

Thank you! Its a little more pixelated than I had hoped but at least it is smooth now, Again my expectations were too high and this is what I will have to settle with. I'll play around with resolutions, Maybe I can get a 1440p recording.

Thank you both, I think multi-adapter compatibility was mainly the issue since after that the stuttering was gone. I also changed rescale to lanczos and will avoid using the downscale in output. I'm getting what I was expecting now! :).
