Question / Help Sudden encoder overloading

Okay this is the deal. I was using OBS Studio with some settings of my own, custom bitrate and all that jazz. The usual stuff. Everything was running rather nicely. No encoder overloading most of the time, everything nice and stable.
Then my PC sort of broke and I had to reinstall Windows (7 Ultimate)
Then I reinstalled OBS Studio after clean install of Windows + windows updates and whatnot.
Now even on the lowest settings I can do, the encoder starts overloading and everything runs like crap, uses more CPU than before and whatnot.
Anyone knows what the problem could be? Could it be badly installed drivers? Since it is a new clean installation maybe I am missing some codecs or something I picked up somewhere along the road before a reinstall and now don't have it anymore.
Any suggestions on how to find and fix the problem?

Don't use custom x264 paramaters.
Switch to simple output mode, indistinguishable quality, software low cpu use encoder.

Look. I used those parameters before. It worked well. Now I use those parameters again. It doesn't work well anymore. It is not the fault of the parameters. It is the fault of something else that changed after I reinstalled Windows. I come here to seek the answer to what it is that changed.

You mean the custom parameters that are getting ignored because they're invalid?

Anyway, use the settings I gave you.

Why do you refuse to understand the fact that I am using the VERY same settings that I used before, including the parameters that are getting ignored because they are invalid (it is just one bloody parameter at that), and the program simply runs worse than it ran before?
Therefor it is obvious that it is simply not the settings that are wrong and causing the problems because they are the same as before.

Not to mention your settings made it even worse. Also you might have misunderstood, I am not recording but streaming.

It is your video card causing the problem btw.

See this is what I wanted to hear. Either way, here are two more log files. One using my settings and one using the simple settings.

Mine: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/55dadd13a6ce2cbbb202a4f70f88e4e7
Simple: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/bd8d160918a9ba19d76ffaf3be84cb6b

What exactly of the card could be causing it? As far as I know the only thing that changed about it is drivers being reinstalled. Could that have messed it all up?

You didn't set the encoder correctly according to the settings I gave.

The video card thing could be the pci-e mode

I had the exact same issue last night all of a sudden. I should preface all of this by saying I'm one of those affected by the Windows 10 Anniversary Update issue.

Last night, I was actually surprised that OBS worked at all for me, because for the past 2 weeks I've been having serious issues related to that Win AU thing. But it worked last night for about 2 1/2 almost 3 hrs straight. Then all of sudden I had those encoder overloading messages pop up everywhere. I actually ended up stopping the stream for a second and then restarting OBS to see if that would fix it, but that didn't do anything. Instantly I got the same encoder issues.

Now I haven't changed any settings really, besides lowering my bitrate slightly to see if that would fix it (which it didn't). So I'm not sure why this issue occurred out of nowhere.

I've attached two log files to this, one from when I was going for almost 3hrs and the other is for when I closed and restarted OBS to see if that would fix it.

You're not having the exact same issue.

The original poster is on windows 7, you're not.
The original poster is having performance issues in the download frame portion of the rendering process, you're not.

By "exact same issue" I'm mainly talking about how the encoder overloading messages all of sudden are now appearing.

And I'm also going by what he said here...
"Now even on the lowest settings I can do, the encoder starts overloading and everything runs like crap, uses more CPU than before and whatnot."

I was having the same issues last night, when those encoder warnings appeared, my CPU was damn near at 100% out of nowhere, when it's usually at 70% at most.

So sure, he may be on Win7, but it still seems somewhat related to me. No need to be snippy about it, but I do value any insight you have.

Your issue is not related enough to warrant continuing in a thread you hijacked.

The ONLY common factor is you're getting encoder overloaded.

Dunno who the hell pissed in your cereal this morning, but grow the hell up man. Good grief. I made a post thinking it was related and you choose to be a total dick about it. You can have your opinion, and I can have mine. Either way, it wasn't hijacking if I felt it could be related. I have the right to post anywhere just like you do. Have a great day, but this will be my last response to you.
