Question / Help Sudden Elgato HD60 res issues

Hi,
I don't really know what changed but after entering the Elgato settings through the devices properties in OBS I now get a 640x480 image which either shows the game, shows Elgato's "no device" or "one moment please" screen, or nothing at all. Also changing the Elgato resolution to 1080p still keeps it at 648x480. In the actual Elgato software there are no issues at all. It's been a while since I last used OBS but back then I had no such issues at all. Also when changing the Video Capture Device from Elgato to webcam OBS crashes sometimes. Any idea what the problem is?

Btw also in the device menu as seen in the picture there now show up 2 different Elgatos... sometimes it says "please connect the device", "no signal" or "640x480 30fps".

Did you change the resolution/fps from Default to Custom in the video capture device properties on accident, perhaps?

Also, click Configure Video in the properties as well to make sure it's set correctly. The configuration in Elgato's software does not carry over to their external driver.

I know it doesn't, it was all setup properly before. I managed to upload the image in my previous post, showing none of the mentioned settings have been changed.
I already messed with so many settings to find the problem, still no idea what's causing this in OBS. No matter what I change either the Elgato doesn't get properly regonized or the resulution stays at 640x480. And I still don't understand why in "Configure Video" I can select Elgato #1 & #2 even though I just have 1. Might there be a corrupt Elgato driver OBS is using?

...edit: the same error now occurs in OBS Classic.

This sounds like something you will need to reach out to Elgato on. You are correct that you have it configured properly in OBS, but the card is sending the wrong video signal. Maybe a clean reinstall of the drivers will help. Try these steps:

1) Unplug the Elgato card
2) Uninstall the drivers
3) Reboot
4) Reinstall drivers
5) Plug Elgato card back in

I uninstalled everything Elgato related but nothing changed. Except now when I opened OBS classic it recognized the Elgato properly. But OBS Studio has still the same issues. I will try to get an answer from Elgato. Thanks.

So Elgato-Support suggested to delete OBS along with the "obs-studio" folder and re-install it. That solved the problem even though I'm still looking for a way to not having to re-do all of my OBS scenes. As far as I can see somehow the "Untitled.json" file seems to be currupted and causing the issues with the HD60 as after re-installing OBS Studio and replacing my backed-up "Untitled.json" file the issue seems to reappear. For more details here's the email I wrote Elgato-support after they suggested to delete OBS Studio:
I was hesitant of doing this because of all the settings in OBS getting deleted. I backed them up and installed OBS again. When adding the Elgato to the scene it starts off still saying the Elgato's at 640x480 and the windows is at that size aswell. Then when setting the Elgato profile to 1080 nothing happens. After re-opening OBS it will then be at the correct resolution. Unfortunately when inserting my backed-up scenes the same bug reocurres. Might there be some other solutions because I really don't want to manually re-create all of my scenes and profiles in OBS Studio...

Also here's what it looks like in OBS 1: After having deleted everything OBS-related, and 2: replacing "Untitled.json" with my old currupted file.1.PNG 2.PNG

The topic is a little older but from one day to another I have exact the same issue. No changes did in Elgato or OBS.

Does somebody know if there was a solution for the issue?

thx
