Success Depends On Type Of Recording (for me)

If I record from VHS tapes recorded in a VCR machine everything is fine. Problems arise when I have a source tape that came from a VHS camera. The picture keeps dropping out to blue screen with "no source" showing but then re-appears. This cycle continues throughout the recording.

Any ideas how to correct this?

This is an issue between your capture device and your vhs/vcr device. Not obs related. The capture device isn't able to properly read the analog signal it gets from the playback device. Something tape related or adjustment of the wheels inside the playback device.
