Subject: Help Needed: OBS Studio Stuck at "STOPPING RECORDING" - Lost My Recording!

Here's the situation: I was in the middle of recording some important content, and when I finished, OBS Studio got stuck at the "STOPPING RECORDING" stage. I waited for a while, hoping it would finalize and save my recording, but sadly, it never did.

Now I'm left wondering if there's any way to retrieve that unsaved recording. It was a crucial video, and I'd be devastated if it's lost forever.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with OBS Studio? If so, could you please share your experiences and any potential solutions you might have tried? I'm open to any suggestions or advice on how to recover my recording.

I've seen a few threads of a similar nature in this forum over the years. Most of them caused by folks who didn't test record in advance, and used settings or a PC incapable of the Recording settings selected. I've never heard of someone recovering a video that didn't record.
If if did record to MKV format... then something may be there. If you ignored warning and recorded to MP4... then unless will to spend big bucks (even then no guarantee).. maybe specialist can recover something?

Per pinned post in this forum, you could post the OBS log from the session when Recording didn't finish and we could take a look.
If this was a first time you ever used OBS Studio to Record, and/or you are not absolutely sure your computer and exact same settings have successfully recorded before.... then decent chance recording is lost (never actually created)
And alternatively, if you have Recorded before, but weren't monitoring what was running in background, lots of possibilities to overload PC with background processes...
but could be something else as well. your OBS Studio log will be a good starting point for someone to evaluate
