I use OBS in both Linux and Windows, but at the moment I am using Windows 10, so that is where I am posting. Perhaps this could also be a "how do I" thread, but since I don't think this feature exists, I'm going to post it first in Ideas and Suggestions.
I wanted to create a tutorial on a non-full-screen app. It's small. I don't want to record the whole desktop. However, the app has various setup and configuration pop-ups, along with right click and left click actions, whereby right click is itself a context sensitive menu. In some cases I can create a capture by naming each window while it is popped up. In other cases, such as right click, it isn't possible to name this as something to capture (I do have "show mouse" on).
What I am wondering about, if it exists, but otherwise want to suggest: Capture video of a program, or any child of the program. I wouldn't need to capture an entire desktop and I'd be able to create (perhaps with one checkbox) an ability to consider not only a given window, but all child windows and right click context sensitive menus.
Does anything like that exist? Or is this correct to be in the ideas and suggestions category?
