Question / Help Stuttering when recording a YouTube Fullscreen Video

Hello Folks,

I installed OBS Studio this weekend and was able to make good 1080p / 60 Recording of WoW Legion in Ultra Settings PLUS Webcam in OBS. Normally it's hard to record WoW with good performance.
I unlocked the internal Graphics via BIOS to let the HD4600 Intel Chip do the rendering (Quicksync), which works fine.
I am able to record in 1080p / 60 with a datarate of 65000, profile high, which results in a good quality for the source video before rendering it in Adobe Premiere.

My Rig:
  • Intel i7 3770k @ 4Ghz, internal HD4600 enabled
  • 32 GB Ram
  • 2 Harddrives @ 2Terabytes, one dedicated for recordings to reduce lagg when writing the recording-data with Fraps
  • ASUS R9 390 / 8GB
However, when I want to record a YouTube video and switch the Video to be shown in Fullscreen, the video starts to lagg. I want to make so called "react videos", but this stuttering is a deal-breaker.

Why do I get this stuttering when capturing YouTube 1080p / 60? My PC is fast enough to play a game PLUS record it with webcam in 1080p / 60. So capturing a video must be no problem.

I am using Chrome, latest version. I didn't try other browsers yet.

Kind regards,
Ulrich

why would you capture a youtube video anyway? you can simply download it
just record your webcam and merge the video footage under it in post production

I think your reply to the original post is quite amiss and provided no help whatsoever to Sentel who sought help with a problem. I myself have a simiilar problem and was hoping to find some solutions here. There are times you only need about 1 or 2 minutes clips from a YouTube Video that is about 3 hours long. Why then would I want to download an entire youtube video that is 3 hours when I can simply use OBS to just cut out the relevant 3 minutes clip I need?

I think before we respond to people's queries or needs, we need to first appreciate what they are trying to archive instead of just assuming things and making responses that may not be in any way helpful to the person who sought help in the first place.

Because it doesn't work for most ppl. Downloading the video with JDownloader 2 or some other download manager that supports youtube and merging that with your recorded webcam in post production works always 100%
