I finally got my recordings to be smooth, but I also play and record in 1080p60. One thing I noticed that could help you is a more powerful CPU? It should help with keeping your FPS in game strong and running OBS on the side. Have you tried disabling your preview in OBS?

I'm glad you got your stuttering fixed! Still having issues here. I did get a ryzen 3800x on Black Friday, but have been having a... Let's say.. difficult time getting the Mobo for it delivered. So I have to wait another week or so before I can try that out. I've tried disabling the preview before and didn't noticeably make a difference.
