Question / Help Stuttering Gameplay - Correct settings for streaming/recording using OBS and Elgato HD60 S?

Hey all,

I have being trying to stream AND record at the same time, using OBS and Elgato HD60 S (hardware). At the moment, I am only playing Nintendo Switch games. My webcam is working just fine, including the mic audio etc. However, anything related to the Elgato Game Capture Device (gameplay AND audio) is very "jumpy" at times, stuttering constantly. When I look at my GPU, it reaches a peak of 65% tops.

I was wondering if I am not using the correct OBS settings for this, based on my machine and internet speed? I am very new on this, so any help is really appreciated.

PC Desktop Specs:
Intel Core i7 4790k Unlocked Quad Core HT CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.00 GHz
16GB RAM
64-bit Operating System
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780

Internet Speed:
~70Mbps Download
~20Mbps Upload //is this too little for streaming in good resolution?

If possible, move your Webcam and Mic to your USB 2.0 Ports, most Haswell boards will still have both 2.0 and 3.0. 3.0 ports are Blue, 2.0 are Black (only applicable if you have both 2.0 and 3.0)

Leave your Keyboard, Mouse and Elgato on your 3.0 Ports

The reason for this is to split the load, if you run a webcam, Elgato and mic all on USB 3.0 channel you run the risk of overloading the bus with too much data (depending on the settings of your Webcam and Elgato). Sure the throughput is 5Gbps but in reality it is much less

It turns out that I had some settings wrong for how I was using the Elgato Game Capture Device. At least I think that was the issue. I've tried different settings on OBS and now it is running quite smoothly! ;)

Do you recall which settings you changed? I am not streaming- only recording. Game Capture HD records fine but OBS has this stutter to it every few seconds. My log:
